Chapter Twelve: The Impossible Truth

He headed deeper to the shelter. He killed NMC’s along his way. Then he received a call. “Agent Pikachu.” He retorted. “This is Rouge.” She said through the speakers of the communicator. “Rouge? Why did you call me?” He asked in a depressed voice. “This is good news.” She answered, “Remember the general who gave you THAT mission?” “Yeah…? What about him?” He said. “Turns out that he’s a fake. I know that we never had a general that knows ANMC’s that much.” She laughed. He paused for a moment. “ANMC’s?” He repeated, “What are they?” “Those are the creatures you and Sonika fought. They stand for Artificial Neo-Mitochondrial Creatures.” He was shocked. “So they’re not NMC’s at all?” He asked. “Nope, not at all.” She replied. Then he sighed with relief. “Your mission isn’t over though.” She added. “Huh?” He said. “The commander wants you to find more about the ANMC.” She requested. “I understand.” He said, “Before you go, how’d you know?” “I was snooping around his office.” She giggled. “No wonder you’re entitled ‘The Sneaky Agent.’” He giggled. She hung up. “I have to tell this to Sonika.” He said happily. “Konnichiwa Static!” She greeted happily. “Sonika, those things are actually ANMC’s, Artificial Neo-Mitochondrial Creatures.” She was shocked. “That’s good, but why do they sense like NMC’s though?” She asked. He was silent. “I have no clue.” He answered nervously. “It’s okay.” She giggled, “Thanks for telling me though. Sayonara!” She hung up. “Well, I’d better go instead of standing here.” He laughed.

He searched every corridor then he starts to wonder about the ANMC. “Who could ever created such monsters?” He asked to himself. He suddenly heard broken glass. He looked down. “What the…” He looked around. “Where am I?” He looked at the things from the tube. He approached then read the note. “Zackary Z’s Failed Clone  Prototype.” It read. “I guess this is the man who created the ANMC’s I guess.” He hypothesized. Then he looked at the two tubes. Both of the glass in each tube is destroyed. He wonders about the two broken tubes. He went to the next room. He saw a surgery table with hi-tech equipment. “Looks like he’s no ordinary being.” He said. He looked around the entire section. Then he returned to the same room with the surgery table. “This is probably Zackary Z’s lab and research center.” He concluded, “Although it’s a wreck…” Then he wondered about the tubes. “Could they be responsible?” He thought, “Or it could probably be that bastard who tried to kill me?” His anger starts to grow then later calms down. “Well, better go to the north corridor then.” He said.

As he was about to go he saw something flashed behind the table. “Hm?” He said, tilting his head. He approached then saw a computer. He sat down on the chair. “Welcome, I was expecting you. Please type your response.” It read. “How’d you know I was coming?” He typed.

A serial killer came to their home and killed Jinita. She was rushed to the hospital and the surgeons tried to treat the wounds, but they were too late. Hearing this made the family miserable. Now the mother focused on Sonika. She took her to the operation room to perform the transplant. It was a success.

“Dammit!” He shouted, pounding his leg. As he was about to leave, he heard siren sounds from the computer. “Huh?” The computer was showing him a video. He starts watching.

“Give us the girl!”

“Who’s that hedgehog?” Static asked to himself.

“You’re not taking her away from me. I made a promise from my dad.”

The two runaways were getting farther.

“Those two remind me of Shadow and Maria…” He said.

Then the runaways were in the nursery.

“You stay and don’t leave the nursery. I’ll find my dad. Once I find him, the three of us will leave.”

“Don’t leave me…”

Then he gave her his journal.

“Keep this so I could be with you.”

“Are you sure you’re gonna be back?”

“It’s a risk I have to take.”

The figure left.

“I’ll see you soon…”

The computer stopped and shuts down. “That’s one strange computer…” He said nervously. He suddenly heard a gun click from somewhere. He got, got his gun out then starts looking for the stranger.
